Tomo No Kai is a cultural and social club that explores the Japanese and Japanese-American cultures and was established in 1977 on the campus of UC Irvine. You might think these cultures are the same, but they are quite different. If you want more information about these differences, feel free to come by and check us out!
Every Thursday, we have a meeting at 6pm in the Cross Cultural Center where we recap the week's events, announce any upcoming events, have fun ice breakers, and teach everyone a snippet of Japanese culture through our J-info section. Of course, the meeting ends with our much anticipated skits put on by the cabinet members! Everyone who is interested is welcome to join us, even if you're not Japanese!
We are a proud sister club of Jodaiko, a taiko performance group. You can learn more about them by visiting their website.
